Public access to building-related geospatial data has improved worldwide and supports diverse applications. While platforms like OpenStreetMap already provide extensive coverage, government datasets are often only partially integrated into planning practice. The Urban Analytics Lab research project developed a global inventory of open government datasets on buildings. The results are presented as an interactive map and a continuously updated list with an index including over 100 million building footprints from locations worldwide (UAL 2021). I contributed by analyzing existing datasets and continuously updating the inventory.
